About Richard White, The Accidental Salesman®

Richard is living proof that anyone can achieve success in sales without needing a personality transplant! He was thrown in the sales deep end when he got hired to run a business unit of a medium sized IT consultancy.

Richard initially struggled with sales but used his NLP modelling skills to find an approach to selling he could feel comfortable with. He went on to build a thriving business unit with many significant blue chip clients including Unilever, First Choice, and British Airways.

Over the last 10 years Richard has combined working with large corporate clients on sales-related change projects with sharing his soft selling techniques with small and medium sized technology businesses.

Richard is the author of ‘The Accidental Salesman Networking Survival Guide’ and founder of TheAccidentalSalesman.com.

About TheAccidentalSalesman.com
Back in 2003 Richard had been in business for a year working on sales-related change projects for large companies, many with a strong IT bias. He was doing a lot of networking and kept on getting asked for sales advice from the owners of smaller businesses. People who hated selling as much as he did when he first got involved in sales back at the IT consultancy. As a way of practicing ‘Givers Gain’ made popular by BNI, he created the “I Hate Selling!!!” Club on Ecademy.com and had 100 members join in just 4 days!

Over the years the club evolved into ‘The Soft Selling Club’ back in 2005 and then in 2006 it became ‘The Accidental Salesman Business Development Club’ with its very own website. Richard started doing tele-seminars – interviewing people he admires who have valuable insight into sales and marketing to share. The interviews were recorded and edited so that all that remained was pure and valuable information without any sales pitch.

Today the site now contains over 35 recorded valuable recordings but also includes some short video sales training courses, and e-books, some of which are the e-versions of published books. Access to this information is still totally free for members of the club with a small charge for those who want to be able to download them.

By the way…. you don’t have to hate selling to join the club! Our membership includes some highly competent sales professionals and business developers who just love the unique and convenient way in which the content is presented!
