Here is some feedback from a couple of accidental sales people:
I’ve been a long student of sales as I am indeed an Accidental Salesman® and I recommend anyone reading this who really wishes to learn how to become a PROPER salesman to join Richard’s club and listen to his podcasts and participate in his webinars. I’ve gain great knowledge as well as confidence in myself from these seminars. In the short time I’ve been following Richard and his teachings, I was able to get fantastic results, making cold calls (something I was fearful to do), meet my prospects prepared and confident and hence, getting projects and gaining respect from my clients as well as my peers in my industry.
Thank you Richard for helping me to be a better salesman and business owner!

Hi Richard,
I recently subscribed to your site after being employed in a sales role.
I have been an Intensive Care Paramedic in a busy metropolitan ambulance service for ten years and decided it was time to further my career. I made the jump into a sales job- “Product Specialist” for a medical technologies company. Other than some commission-only selling as a teenager and 4 years in retail, I was a complete sales novice, and quite terrified at the prospect of prospects! I was a very competent and confident clinician as a medic, but a scared little puppy dog regarding sales.
I truly had no idea what I was doing.
I used my inter-personal skills and stress-coping mechanisms gained from work as a medic to good effect, but with regard to sales technique (overcoming objections, closing, finding/attracting clients etc) you were all I had and that scared me!! I need not have been worried, as the guidance I got from you was brilliant. My confidence leaped from strength to strength, along with my sales figures and client list!!
My sincere thanks to you and all contributors to your site; you have- quite literally- changed my life and career outlook to great positive effect.
Kind Regards,
Benjamin Tranter

ABOUT RICHARD WHITE - THE ACCIDENTAL SALESMAN®
Richard White is the Accidental Salesman®. He fell into sales more than 10 years ago when he landed a job running a business unit within a medium sized IT consultancy. That was the day he discovered that business development meant selling! Richard wanted to succeed in his role and yet he could not bring himself to use the tactics that they were teaching him on the training courses he attended. He set out on a quest to discover how to successfully win business in an honest and respectful way that did not require being pushy or manipulative.
Richard started to look for role models and was lucky enough to find some top sales people willing to share their approach. He discovered that the secret was not just about the techniques but also the philosophy and mindset that makes the difference. They all had a respectful relationship based approach to selling. It was very soft and almost did not seem like they were selling at all. The more Richard applied this ’soft’ approach to his sales, the more successful he became and the more he began to feel comfortable with selling. He eventually began outselling his colleagues.
Richard now devotes most of his time to helping owners of small business and professionals to achieve breakthroughs in their sales growth. He specialises in helping people boost confidence and overcoming fear and procrastination. They like his soft and respectful manner and the fact that he understands how they feel. They also like the fact that Richard takes a business and strategic approach to sales and marketing, having attended one of the top business schools in Europe.
