  • Accidental Salesman® and my work with reluctant sales people. She has asked some great questions on her application questionnaire and it got me trying to explain how I manage to get fast increases in sales results for my clients without focusing on sales technique. I actually do very little sales training myself except where people know what they should be doing but are avoiding it. Its normally a mindset issue behind it. It seems to be so counter intuitive to focus on mindset rather than technique and yet when I help people get in the right frame of mind then the techniques seem to take care of themselves. There are plenty of great sales books and CDs plus training courses by excellent trainers. Indeed, I have interviewed many of them in my weekly free teleseminars for the Accidental Salesman® Club. I was thinking about how it seems that the conditioning around sales is so strong that anything to do with sales MUST be training. I was then reminded of how a friend expressed it very explicitly. He said that there is a difference between sex education and sex training! You can get results with some sex training but without a bit of sex education first you might not quite get the results you were hoping for! Would you advise parents to encourage their children to get some sex training before sex education?! Something to ponder for the weekend!" title="LinkedIn">LinkedIn
